CEO Connect and Women of Influence 2019

SFBW started out with CEO Connect and later added the very popular CEO Connect Women of Influence events. The invitation-only series includes a cocktail hour and an intimate interview with a leading business professional. Photos and highlights from the interviews are published in the magazine.

July Maria C. Alonso Alonso became president and CEO of United Way of Miami-Dade in 2017 after a 22-year career as an executive with Bank of America and its predecessor, NationsBank. She has served as chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
January Marcelo Kingston Kingston has more than 20 years’ experience in the real estate development and financial services sectors. The managing partner of Multiplan Real Estate Asset Management has been leading development of 57 Ocean, a luxury oceanfront condominium in Miami Beach.
February Chris Hummel & Brady Ballard SFBW went to FitTeam Ballpark in West Palm Beach to interview FitTeam CEO Chris Hummel and Brady Ballard, general manager of the ballpark. The 2019 World Series featured the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, who both have spring training at the ballpark.
March Justin Firestone Firestone brings extensive experience in private aviation to his position of co-founder of Wheels Up. He also founded and leads Firestone Management Group.
May Ken Kennerly Kennerly is executive director of the Honda Classic and president and CEO of K2 Sports Ventures. Moving the golf tournament to PGA National Resort boosted attendance by 203,000.
April Sheryl Clark The president and CEO of Boston Proper talked about negotiating the changing retail landscape with an emphasis on digital sales. She was previously executive VP of merchandising for Old Navy-The Gap Inc.
April Daniel Rimon and Peter Zadok FORTS CEO Rimon and Elite Aluminum Corp. president Zadok talked about teaming up to create a unique product. FORTS stands for Fold-Out Rigid Temporary Structure, which can be unfolded in a few minutes and used in a variety of industries.
June Julio Frenk The sixth president of the University of Miami is internationally known in the health care field and served as Mexico’s minister of health. He also is a professor at the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and the School of Business Administration.
July Wael Barsoum Barsoum is the CEO and president of Cleveland Clinic Florida and a member of the Cleveland Clinic executive team. He also has a clinical practice as a staff orthopedic surgeon.
October Ellen Latham Latham turned the adversity of being laid off into developing a workout program that evolved into Orangetheory Fitness, which she co-founded. It has 1,300 locations globally with a goal of 2,500.
September John C. Tolbert Tolbert is president and managing director of the Boca Raton Resort & Club and the chairman of Revelation Consultancy, a real estate advisory group. He serves on multiple community boards in Palm Beach County.
